'played golf' for the first time today. went down to a driving range where you just hit some balls out into the open
half of the time I either missed or scraped the ground as the ball was hit. and when I did hit the ball, it didn't go straight on it was p fun, much more exciting than I thought. it makes me want to play golf seriously. but damn the sport is harder than it looks --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Just expensive for new people to get into i've seen the prices of some of the clubs...it's very expensive. it's fun to play if you're bad, but it can be embarrassing the driving range I went to was decent. you get a bay with up to 4 people, 120 balls, 1 hour for £12. so that can end up costing £3 per person which is incredibly cheap --- ... On the bright side, if you're really good at mini golf, that means you're probably decently good at what's generally considered the toughest part of regular golf: the putting.

The thing about Golf is you will always suck at it. There's no shame in it. If you approach it as something thats just fun and no pressure on yourself you'll really get into it

Definitely harder than just "swing the club at it".
I've been playing for maybe 10 years (infrequently) and it's still a challenge to hit it straight. I still can't even use my driver correctly.
