I think most people are center left. But there are a few very right and very left people that stand out and make a lot of noise.

Pretty much.

It can be hard to tell at times given the trolls that drown out everyone else, the posters (typically right-wingers) that are "totally unbiased centrists/libertarians", etc.

The mods may lean left though, or at least you'd think so given how often they're accused of having a left-wing bias. You'd think few would have a reason to complain if the board really is so left-leaning.

Probably this. For every Admiral or Mal_Fet you have RebelElite and averagejoel. I will say that it is much easier for me to express liberal ideas without having insults thrown my way by more people. Sometimes I hold my tongue if I have a right leaning opinion because it feels like more people would jump on me unnecessarily than if it were reversed.

Well the right wingers here are mostly shit posters so they get the most attention, which is a natural process on the internet. I've seen very few right wingers maintain dignity and not shit post here. They do exist, but extremely rare.
