Yeah, I prefer it being more difficult, and causing you to lose more lockpicks if you mess up, than Fallout 3 and New Vegas where you just can't attempt it if your skill is too low.

The most realistic lockpicking mechanic in any major game tbqh. It was really cool and required some actual skill.

It was kind of fun at times. At other times I was just annoyed and wanted it over with. It's been a really long time so I don't remember which one I preferred though I think the old version was harder.
