Weird that shooter games only keep getting smaller and smaller, rather than bigger like you'd expect as technology improves. Just imagine MASSIVE FPS gameplay on an MMO-sized world. Persistent objectives, no map/round resets, vehicle spawning points to pull your own personalized vehicle instead of rushing to the 2 tank spawns your team has hoping you get one, real sniping and stealth, faction loyalty like Alliance vs Horde (throw in a third faction to keep things exciting!) Massive battles on a global scale, who wouldn't want a shooter game like that? Now if you mean a questing system akin to WoW in a FPS with a bunch of people then Borderlands meets most of the criteria only instead of lobbies you'd want a full open server which I totally agree with. FPS RPG's are a lot more common and theres a lot of really good ones.
