He said he felt euphoric when he managed to bring a patient back to life, and devastated when he failed.

Pretty amazing that you decided to shoehorn politics into this and then made a very stereotypical error.

That's pretty messed up but I'm not reading any real malevolence from the nurse. He genuinely wanted to save people, even if it manipulating the circumstances to force them into situations so that he can be the hero. This is a pretty interesting case where the culprit doesn't have the worst intentions but is too dangerous to exist in society.

And 6 other colleagues are being charged for manslaughter. I suppose it doesn't pay to not snitch.

Read the article, this is definitely murder. You give those drugs and it basically leads to cardiac arrest in which case ur basically dead and need to be resuscitated. That is the definition of murder, premeditated killing of a human.

Putting patients into cardiac arrest or serious arrhythmias where none existed previously is absolutely malevolence. It's like saying you intentionally ran over someone with your car so you could get out and give CPR, which makes you feel heroic.

He induced his patients into a cardiac arrest specifically to revive them. Not to kill them. This is what I meant by "even if it manipulating the circumstances to force them into situations so that he can be the hero". This sounds more like gambling with people's lives as opposed to a murder where you're making actions strictly to kill.

I suppose I didn't think of the permanent effects of a cardiac arrest, even when revived. Good point.

Niels Högel, 40, was jailed for life in February 2015 for two murders and several attempted murders of intensive care patients at Delmenhorst hospital in northern Germany.

Jailed for life in Germany. What is that really in regular non-European terms, 12 years of actual imprisonment then parole? I mean hopefully he will never be released, but nothing surprises me anymore when it's dealing with Western Europe.

Good point lol. Surprised they even had life in prison. You'd think the maximum would be like 30 years or something.
