I'm on wifi(crappy wifi at that), and as far away from the router as I can physically be and I don't think I've ever had a ping over 35 or even experienced lag that wasn't due them updating the game.

as you're saying this, I get dropped from a game, can't sign on to the server, yet I'm streaming perfectly with 0 frames dropped and played two PUBG games with no lag or connection issues. fuck overwatch

The answer is a three part thing.

1. There are a fuckton of people playing
2. The matchmaking factors latency to a server for the purposes of matchmaking
3. Because of 1, the people you are matched with for 2 are going to be reasonably close to your level of latency

I said it was fixed. Back at day one the refresh rate was half what it is now.

I think it was three "seasons" ago where I tried comp, won 9/10 placements, and started at Diamond.

When 20/25 of the heroes have a movement ability that absolves them of all mistakes in positioning and extending, it takes more effort to die than to face punishment for being an idiot.
