It's true that Uber/Lyft/other rideshare drivers CAN make like 400 bucks a day
but they also have days where they might make 40 in 6 hours and then you consider the wear and tear to your personal vehicle paying for gas etc They might come out to a gross 100K but they'll actually make less than that and their expenses are way higher than most jobs, even if you're well-versed in tax stuff source: i currently work for a competing rideshare service --- ... So an Uber drivers paycheck doesn't count for state/federal taxes and other deductions such as 401K, healthcare, etc?

They're considered independent contractors, not employees, and therefore they don't get a W2 and stuff I don't really know the super specifics, I just know the general gist of things tbh edit: at least for uber and lyft (i think?)... uber for sure --- ...
