I'm on a Twin Peaks marathon right now (just started the new season) and I'm itching for a Twin Peaks-like game. I've already played Alan Wake and it was interesting realizing how much that game took from the show.

I'm up to the hospital so far in this and I'm not sure what to think so far. Is it just going to be random nonsense throughout this game? He's talking to Zach (who I guess is me) and gets messages from his coffee for some reason. I'm not sure if there's any rhyme or reason to it yet lol. Game looks like it's over a decade old too lol

yea.

it doesn't have the greatest graphics or gameplay, but it's one of the most unique games that I've ever played.

its story and characters (especially York) are both strange and amazing.

It's a pretty cool game. The driving is insufferable, but York's banter with the player almost makes up for it.

I like the stuff in the town so far but the intro in the game shooting random ghost people wasn't so good. Is there a good balance?

there are side-missions that you can complete that will reward you with weapons the have infinite ammo, so that helps

I'll stick with it then. York's random commentary about DVD special features in old movies was...something.

It's definitely worth playing through. If you like Twin Peaks, you'll fall in love with its quirks and cast immediately. There are still some issues with its gameplay, but all in all, it's a fun experience.

I was enjoying it, but then the game started crashing A LOT to the point where I couldn't keep playing.

If you can get it to run decently, then from the couple hours I played I'd recommend it. It's not exactly good it's just very strange and interesting.

Yeah, mine was a steam copy so maybe GOG version is better.

it's based around a small town murder mystery of a young woman, where nothing is as it seems, with a colorful cast and bizarre FBI protagonist.

It just feels like a huge homage to Twin Peaks. You play an eccentric FBI Agent, it takes place in a town similar to Twin Peaks, a lot of the game is centered around the towns people and their drama, the combat sections basically take you to these otherwordly areas, there's some music that feels reminiscent to twin peaks.

I've only played an hour so far but it's pretty much Twin Peaks so far from a quirky Japanese perspective.

You play as an FBI agent who arrives in a small town with classic American values to investigate the murder of a young girl. He has dreams where he's in a red forest with some mysterious figures. He talks to someone in his mind called Zach (I think it's supposed to be you the player) just like Cooper does to Diane. He loves coffee. He stays in a hotel. He works with the local police department and there's even a well meaning dopey guy like Andy.

When you arrive at the hospital the girl says she's reading a popular book about a girl murdered in a small town and the entire town is grieving for her.

I think it's trying to be obvious heh.
