I've only been to Chicago once, and their pizza was, far and away, the best meal I've ever tasted in my life. Bar none.

For what it's worth, it's New Yorkers bitching about regional pizzas not being like their own is a far bigger issue. At most from the Chicago side, I've heard many say that our pizza is better than the rest, but not that regional variants can't exist. For New Yorkers, they bitch and moan at the notion that other areas have the gall to have different styles of pizza.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

You realize quality varies place to place. It's likely you went to a bad pizza place.

I've never had real Chicago pizza. I've had imitations that claim "Chicago style." If the imitations are an accurate representation then yeah, Chicago pizza sucks.

Yes, this is the other thing I wanted to say. I think most people don't understand the point of Chicago style pizza (or hot dogs for that matter). It's not about trying to be better than New York. It's about making something that's good, but different enough that you don't need to compare the two.

New Yorkers really get mad about people liking any other pizza better than New York pizza. But in Chicago, if you don't like our pizza we just think "hey, your loss." And that goes for pretty much anything else.

Any recipe and method of making pizza in Chicago or New York can be used in Alaska, Florida, or even Idaho.

Not really. Locality of ingredients has a significant impact on the quality of the end product.

But more so regions have preferences and for a place to stay in business it needs to adjust to local taste.

The biggest difference I notice when having pizza elsewhere is how bland the sauce tends to be.

I'd guess about 99% of pizza places use frozen, pre-cooked meat

Then you'd showcase you haven't been in a Chicago pizza place. I worked at a place and would even pick up the orders from our local butcher.

And what Chicago pizza place are you about to Google and pretend you had?

I was there like a year ago. I couldn't tell you the name of the place.

Lmfao what a god damn scrub, gtfo out with this trash. Remember that time I went to New York, tried a shitty pizza from a shitty pizza place in New York and labeled the entire state as having shitty pizza? Oh yeah I don't, because I'm not a fuckboy
