No. I use another card.

Only time this happened to me is if I missed a text saying a payment I made was flagged suspicious and I needed to confirm it to have them unlock my card.

meh, ive seen people in front of me have cards rejected and never gave it a second thought, I assume in general no one gives a fuck about the shit I do so I don't get embarrassed about most things.

That's something I need to train my mind to think more often. I always get anxious thinking up situations like these, even if in the back of my mind, I know most people wouldn't care.

On rare occasions (assuming people keep more than a dollar in their checking accounts).

Happened to me recently in autopay situations, so it didn't exactly happen in person. But basically, what happened was, my bank issued new cards in response to a Chipotle PoS breach from a while ago. The old ones were going to go bad two weeks after they were issued. So I got a call from State Farm one day saying my card got declined.

Obviously a different situation, but that's the closest I've ever been to the situation in the OP.

ive had a situation where my card was cancelled/on temporary hold because of suspected fraud without me being informed (this was before everyone could get a text message)
ive had my cards killed from magnets
ive had cards be just plain unreadable from overuse and not able to go through
ive had credit card machines not working and me being the first person to go try to get checked out since they went down

and once I had it rejected from having no money in college

my card for my bank account got hacked just before cristmas one year. bank caught it and froze the account. went to kfc before i got notification and card got declined. payed in cash but with account closed royally f***ed up christmas shopping that year

on vacation in summer i went to get gas in georga, running low on gas, and the bank shut the card down. had to call the bank and hope they reactivated it before i ran out of gas and lost the ac
