One of the best parts of Scrubs is how the characters grow within each episode and as a whole through the show

JD isn't bad to people because he's a bad guy - sometimes he seems to forget that the world exists around him. And once again, he generally knows or realizes when he was wrong and tries to make it right. He's also a great friend to all of his friends, really.

Ross is in-comparison a shitty, badly written character who rarely sees the error of his ways and is often wrongfully self-righteous about stuff
He has no business being as puffed up about himself as he is

I still think you're giving JD too much credit. All his efforts to make it right again are undone the next time he's an ass. And his romantic relationships are just him being a shit person and then eventually he and Elliott settle for each other because they're incapable of having adult relationships.

On Ross, I tend to agree.

I still think this makes JD a good character, or at least a true-to-life one. I've known at least a few asses in my day who were always repentant of their jackassery, but it was too imbedded in their nature for them to truly change, even though they did try and did ultimately make minute self-improvements. Point in fact I wouldn't like JD half as much as a character if he wasn't the way he was. A good ensemble cast has the ability to juggle your sympathies between characters when one or two of them is an ass and the rest have to put up with him / her / them.

My only true complaint with JD's character arc was in Season 3, when they arbitrarily gave Sean a handful of out-of-character dickish moments just for the sake of painting JD as the underdog hero in the love triangle.

I didn't find her attractive either but the show outright states she's hot. I just decided you have to accept that's she's hot whether it's true or not for the show to make sense.

This is the first topic ever I've seen people shitting on JD and going as far to compare him to Ross. He was egotistical like most doctors are but most of the time tried to at least make things right when he fucked up. He was also a very loyal friend in his circle and it was pointed out many times that people outside the circle hated that particular circle.

If people IRL had as much sex as the girls on Friends had, they'd have so many STDs. Seriously, especially the first few seasons, the Friends girls had sex with someone different in like every episode.

The more I watch Friends the more I realize how much I hate Rachel. She is easily my least favorite character. She should've been more sensitive to Ross' feelings, seeing as he suffered the traumatic event of his wife turning lesbian on him and getting a divorce. He had emotional scars, of course he's going to have trust issues. Rachel didn't consider him in that regard at all.

Rachel was a manipulative, high maintenance bitch through pretty much the entire show.
