So that final match saved SummerSlam from being a terrible PPV. The main event was match of the year material (and Lesnar retaining caught me by surprise), the RAW tag title match was enjoyable (and made my OTP canon), the US title match was pretty good (and wasn't ruined by the nonsense with Shane), but everything else was somewhere between underwhelming and god-awful. I'll give the show overall a 5.5/10, but those three matches were all at least 8/10, and the main event might be the closest WWE has come to a 10/10 in a while.

And don't even get me on the G1 where they have over 70 matches that were 3 Stars or above in my option, and well over 20 that were 4 Stars and that was just in three weeks.

But I will say, the first sequence of the main event to Brock being stretchered out was one of the best things WWE has done this year. So good. Braun looked so strong.

Yes, I'm not taking anything away from the main event tonight. That and the New Day/Uso tag were the only things I liked on the show. I did miss a a lot of the Ambrose/Rollins vs The Bar match, though.

I missed the preshow so I'll watch the ND/Usos match tomorrow.

Sheamus/Cesaro vs. Mini-SHIELD was pretty decent too. Probably top 3 match of the night.

I doubt Brock holds the belt until Wrestlemania. He's probably going to drop it to Braun at SvS or the Rumble.

Also I have to say the first 10 minutes of the Main Event last night was probably the most exciting thing I've watched in WWE this year so far.
