This city is great. They promise protection and the cops, state government and a lot of the protesters abide to it. I always feel safe in that city. Always, always on high alert even in small issues or events. I went to the marathon this year and the police handled that just as well. Fourth of July is always handled greatly too.

All violence is bad, but not equal. Extreme right-wingers are organzied groups that practice inherently violent, if not genocidal ideologies. They are prone to worse violence as they commit the most terrorism in the country. Violent leftists are bad, but they aren't organized. They are loose collections of assholes interpreting a message in a violent way. Their bad will always pale in comparison. There is no good way to interpret white supremacy. It is disingenuous to suddenly act as if all actions are equal.

As for freedom of speech, no you have no obligation for your views to be valued, especially not when you are promoting a hateful, murderous message that is incompatible with freedom. Before you say it, if you find left-wingers calling for the death of someone they don't like, shut those assholes down too. You have freedom of speech too and you are not forced to allow hate a platform and to not think less of hateful people. We would need fascism to have what you want us to have.
