But yes the show is amazing. Season 2 and 5 are low points, but still good tv

Like I said, I'm enjoying it. I've marathoned nearly 3 seasons in about a week. I was just expecting more due to all the hype.

Props for making it to season 3. I quit with 2 eps left in season 1 lol. Absolutely no tension. Good acting and dialogue but no reason to keep tuning in. One of the bigger disappointments.

I liked it. Not my GOAT series, but I like it. I was not feeling it, but after season 2 and 3 it started growing on me. I only didn't liked the conclusion. It felt like nothing was accomplished.

It is so far ahead of any other police/crime show in terms of its immersion and realism that it is hard to wrap your head around it. You can easily be like the islander a sees the plane for the first time and tries to shoot it down in the mistaken belief that it is a predatory bird large enough to make you a meal.

I was such a big fan of Sopranos at the time Wire hype was launching up, that I really didn't give The Wire much of a chance. I was expecting something like Sopranos, but Sopranos in contrast is a traditional TV show that can have some appeal for everyone whereas The Wire almost becomes a literary essay on American life as it is lived, and you might need to be educated to really like it.

I'm not sure if I really love The Wire as much as everyone else, but the effort put in is undeniable.
