I keep hearing they have nothing that would get an R Rating if shown in theaters.

They use fouler language than the MCU films and have awkward sex scenes.

Pretty much this, although I'd say Jessica Jones would probably get an R rating based on subject matter.

They got instances here and there that justify the TV-MA rating, but yeah, they don't push the MA rating too far. They don't even drop the F-bomb.
