The whole appeal with these kind of services is to give you stuff that's too explicit for network tv.

It's makes sense to get HBO for something like Deadpool because the inevitable network broadcast will be butchered to hell and back.

Most people will be like "Eh, I can wait for it to show up on the Disney Channel".

I doubt Frozen 2 will have any "Stranger in the alps" type edits when it shows up on cable.

That's just plain not true. Netflix pushed Fuller House hard, and that is a pretty explicitly family friendly affair. Not only that, but Netflix has been peddling itself as a children friendly service for a long time.
