most people i hear talking about working at game stop hate it.

not so much the customers, but their bosses constantly pushing them to sell preorders, lie to customers, sign folks up, sell used games, etc.

hell i remember one person said that if they sold new games, that would create a deficit they had to make up in preowned game sales. and if they didnt sell enough preowned games, they would lose money allocated to their stores/employees meaning they would have to fire folks.

But it actually was fun for me. Talking to customers about video games is considered work. Lax dress code, comfortable air conditioned environment, discount on every non-console/gift card item, and you can try pre-owned games for free.

And luckily for me, that whole push the pre-orders thing was a big fat lie.
