I didn't like how 4's main missions was tied so heavily in the side missions whereas that didn't seem to be the focus in 3.

To be fair it's been a while since I've played either so maybe my memory is fucked.

3 and 4 were both side-missions: the game, but at least 4 has baller superpowers to play with.

I loved the first two, but really hated what they did with three. They dumbed down the humor too much, stripped customization, and had a smaller map. Quit the series after playing a few hours of it.

it's a shame 2 runs like ass on... well, every platform, but it's terrible on PC, because I like how it balanced the silliness with the more serious content

SR2 was the best. 3 was pretty good too, though I couldn't get into 4 at all. Though I did appreciate how they put a lot of effort into topping themselves.

It runs pretty well on Xbox 360, but the main problem with that is, you need to play it on Xbox 360.

And the DLC's limited to consoles only, it never got a PC port. What the hell, man

I remember the game freezing on Xbox 360, especially when doing co-op :(

oh, and the DLC introduced an issue that made the final mission of the game proper nearly unbeatable

2, 3 and 4 all have great things and not so great things about them. all of them are good for the most part though. but 4 has the Dubstep Gun, so i think overall that wins it for me.

Kind of this. 1 and 2 are almost completely separate games from 3 and 4. Once it hit 3, the series went completely over the top, which is fine, but after being used to semi "real" things in 1 and 2, it was tough to adjust initially.

2 was amazing.

Perfect blend of serous and silly, with great co-op.
