Joey only had a few golden episodes. The episode Joey loses Healthcare and auditions for roles while having a hernia is among a top 5 episode tho.

Pretty terrible, yes. But it's not like the others haven't done terrible things. He's also done a lot of incredibly nice things for her.

yeah this plus a host of other things:
didn't give Rachel the message from the guy at the bar/club
dates a student at the college
steals Joey's girlfriend
that weird sandwich episode

To be fair, Rachel wanted to use Ross for sex and Ross declined it and she guilt trip him to make it his fault. Using Rachel as a crutch to make Ross look bad isn't a good idea.

He breaks up with the student at the college in the same damn season, dude. He feels bad about it throughout the entire time. He's not a Saint lol, it's a TV show.

You make it sound like dating an adult female who can make her own decisions for a few weeks is like "OMG he MURDERED SOMEONE!".

also...MY SANDWICH!?!?

Monica had sex with a high schooler in, like, the first episode. They've all done some deviant stuff. Dating a sudent that's not even in your class is bad, yeah, but it's not like it's morally abhorrent, just weird and socially unacceptable.

It was no more creepy than George staring at Denise Richards in front of her dad in their own house on Seinfeld when she was like 16 years old in that episode.

It's a TV show.

Seinfeld is clearly billed as a 'bad people doing bad things' show though lol. And they routinely get what's coming to them too

I mean, that was creepy. So was Eric and his cousin in. That 70's Show.

But yeah, I agree. It's a sitcom and that was one of my points earlier on. Demonizing sitcom characters for these things is ridiculous. They're intentionally absurd for humor.

What?

It's clearly billed as a show about nothing...most definitely not a show about...bad people?

You need to go back and watch the show. It's summed up nicely in the finale

You mean the finale where they break the crime of helping out a citizen, because as the Defense Attorney says it blatantly in the show, they "did nothing"?

As in...a show about doing nothing and their crime was doing nothing?

Yeah.

...bad people? wtf?

George pays for a squirrel's surgery, including having the tiny surgical instruments shipped to the vet to use. He's very nice.

Like, you can't use the Soup Nazi in your argument to call Jerry and Kramer bad people. wat.

It's weird, watching Seinfeld for the first time you don't really notice how horrible the characters are, you're more noticing/laughing at the silly situations and jokes. I feel that's why the finale came out of nowhere for a lot of viewers because everyone expected the characters to live happily ever after. After repeated viewings from the syndication do you start to notice what terrible people they are and why the finale made sense.

Monica didn't know he was a high school student until he told her after they slept together. He told her he was in college.

Like most situations CEmen think you can separate events from their context and compare them in a vacuum

So something Monica did, like sleeping with a high schoolers even though he deceived her (she did too but his was worse), is bad and therefore comparable to say deliberately lying about your marriage annulment

That was comparing the relationship between Ross and the student versus Monica's and the high schooler. If this is all about moral issues, they're both liars and she did end up sleeping with a high schooler which is worse than a professor sleeping with a student that's not even in their class. Just because that particular school has a policy against it doesn't somehow make it worse since there are also schools that lack this policy.

Already said lying about the annulment is terrible

I mean, just consider how he handles Rachel's plea to let her have a social life that doesn't include him sometimes

He acts like it's all okay to her but he actually, to the core, does not want that at all
That's not fucking healthy
It makes me think he's a needy little child and a pretty selfish

He wants to control who she meets and cannot stand the thought of not being around when she's doing things

This alone is fucking crazy
Also I'm not sure I'm conveying how horrible I think his lying about the annulment is

Ross was an awful character, by far my least favorite on the show. His arrogance and self-absorption annoyed me more than anything.

Pheebs was the best. I loved how she'd always very flatly put people down in her own hilarious, quirky way.

That episode always annoyed me. Instead of just telling the woman he had an accident bleaching his teeth, he decides to creepily tell her he did it for her.
