I read it had something to do with copyright problems involving the Super Nintendo's FX chip, and that's why Star Fox has also never been ported. If that's true do you think Nintendo worked out those problems for the SNES Classic or do you think they just paid a buttload of money?

Like I explained in a PM earlier the GBA version of Yoshi's Island wasn't a port but a remake. It had a different sound and graphics chip than the SNES version which is why the Music, Graphics, and Yoshi's voice were slightly different.

because why FX chip when they had the tech of the GBA at their disposal? you're right it was rather limited compared to the SNES and its FX chip.

Isn't a port a transferring of an older game just the way it was to a newer system? Like the Jak and Daxter collection was a port but the 3DS version of Ocarina of Time was a remake.
