As a general rule, "liberals" on CE and in the mainstream discourse is actually used to describe two very different groups of people

"Snowflakes" These people loved Hillary Clinton to an unhealthy extent. They glom on to Russia conspiracies and fantasize about Trump's impeachment and President Orrin Hatch being sworn in by Ruth Bader Ginsberg for some reason. They can now be found in the replies to every Trump tweet, saying things like "Sir, this is not befitting of the office, how dare you" and LARPing as Aaron Sorkin characters

"Hardline violent extremists:" These are people who, if they voted in November, did so very reluctantly or not for Hillary Clinton. They would be quick to inform you that they are not in fact liberals, but anarchists, communists, or some other left-wing viewpoint. These are the folks wearing masks and making anti-capitalist chants at G20.

So while there is an element of "make up your minds, conservatives" at work here, the problem is really a failure of vocabulary. Too many people have just one word for the broad swath of politics to the left of John Kasich.
