so an actual increase of 1.25%

i'm not sure it's likely many businesses would pay to move their base of ops over a 1.25% reduction in their net profits

to be clear it doesnt matter what your margin is for this, tax is not applied to gross revenues and if you say it is you don't understand economics and have never filed a schedule C.

I'm not from that state but I looked it up. It's going from 3.75% to 4.95%. Which breaks down to about $1.50 per paycheck extra.

Opponents are probably using the 32% figure to make it seem astronomical.

Before freaking out, note the difference between percent and percentage points.

Not that a 32% increase is any fun but it's much better than 32 percentage points.

I meant less. Not sure why I said more.

I was looking at homes in Tinley Park Illinois where the tax total was around $6500-7000.

In comparison, I looked at similarly priced homes in South Bend where the taxes were around $1500-2080

What the fuck are you talking about? We've been spending too much on those things for decades. CPS costs $16,000 per student per year and barely half can read or do math at a grade-school level. Money was always thrown at these things.

We didn't have a budget because the fucking spenders wouldn't agree to cut anything.
