I'm trying to farm the seitengrat and in 1 hour Ive gotten the chest to spawn once and it was 10 gil

But still. A 200+ atk 75 evade weapon with apparently sick range is nothing to scoff at

I guess but even without, I've got some of the second strongest armor already for everything but mystic characters. And that alone is making everything before me drop in a heartbeat. Well, except the combination fights in the trial mode. For instance the one with all the rooks. Or the current one I'm unable to get past with all the hunt and rare (plus medallion) bunny enemies at once.

Eh. If you want to spend time cheesing chest spawn locations to totally break this already rather easy game, all the power to you. As it is, the hunts available after Raithwall's Tomb are murder so far. I think the Enkelados is the easiest one to do, but I also killed the Giza Plains marks before continuing south to Ozmone Plain. That Marilith does a lot of damage, too.

I struggled with the hunts as well, which is why I left the harder ones until after I got to Eruyt's Village. I just finished off White Mousse, and am now going to try my luck against Ring Wyrm.

There is literally no cheesing the chest

In four hours of 4x speed chest "farming" Ive gotten the chest to spawn like...3-4 times. 10 gil each time. I usually make it a goal to do these patience/grinding things in games but holy shit I might actually break for this one

In other news tho, got that sweet 90+ atk confuse sword for Bash and 2 50+ atk sword of kings for Vaan and Balthier through trials and I havent even left to get Penelo from Bagamnan yet. Trials give so much good shit.

Fighting coeurls in the jungle and libra says they're weak to ice, but they take zero damage from my black mage using blizzard on them.

I dun get it.

Could just be that your spell, even with their weakness, isn't enough to bypass their natural magic defense.

Doing the cutscene at the top of Mt. Bur-Omisace right now. I swear ever since I left the Jagd Yensa the story has taken a downturn it shows no indication of recovering from.

I've been farming the cerobbi steppe. It's the only area so far that you can only get loot besides meteors from chests by using the crystal armlet accessory. But the rate feels nerfed from vanilla. Sure, better armor in most cases. But there's so many you need to get that tracking everything is more than a bit annoying. Think I'll hit up giruvegan tonight after work in the hour or so I'll be able to stay awake before I need to pass out before work in the morning. But hey at least I already have two white masks. Will make ultima slightly easier.

Ahh I will need a guide to get the pH... Whatever highwaste esper. That spring puzzle is so arbitrary. At least it's reasonable to figure out unlike that megalixir chest from the waterfall puzzle though. *shudders*

So ever since the second time on the leviathan, where the background of the world becomes the foreground, you think it's not as good? You're gonna either love or hate the story where I'm at. Probably hate.

Just spoke with the garif. I haven't picked my second boards yet. I'm going to max out the first board before I go on to a new one. I'm going to try and match it up based on armor type, but I'll probably give black mage to Penelo and white mage to Ashe, who are red battlemage and foebreaker respectively

Red mage is an extra healer before you can farm elixirs. And they can unlock great swords. And they are the only ones who can use arcane magic.

Zero reason to skip out on red.

Black is really strong this time because the damage cap was fixed and the mp restoring abilities work better, letting them cast endlessly when farming or chaining anything that isn't say, a tower or wyrm.

But red mage/ archer is god tier. Cura works wonders until you can get x potions or elixirs. Then you can have them just back up heal with their restorative item Lores. They get all 3 potion, ether and remedy lores. Throw on the accessory in the menu if necessary to double the effects and you can basically full restore your tank using a bubble belt with a phoenix down.

I know I'm fairly happy with Ashe as Rdm/Archer. She helped make the White Mousse fight extremely trivial. I'd rather have her equip a bow than a mace right now, though.

Once you get a mace with status effects you'll be set, except against the incoming flying enemies

So there have been a few guaranteed methods for Seitengrat but its still p divided. Some people can do it 100% while others still stuck.

But holy shit the best part is that some people are literally melting down that people are "cheating" in a single player game

Heh. If people want to trivialize the game for their own amusement, then let them. I don't see the point in getting that weapon, but to each their own. I imagine the frustration of trying to get it outweighs the frustration of trying to beat some of these hunts when you can gain access to them. I was stuck on Trickster for far too long, and now Antlion is kicking my ass.

Indeed. I play for a few hours, then stop to refresh before I get burned out. I'm just before the Mosphoran Highwastes, working on getting some espers out of the way. I got Adremmalech down, but CuChulainn kicked my ass when I tried fighting him.

I waited until I finished draklor before getting cuchulainn. The passive HP drain is too much until you're level 50 or higher

I wasn't even aware there were non-story Espers. I've ventured slightly into areas that I wasn't meant to go like the woods @ Golmoro Jungle and the Zertinan Caverns, but those mobs punch me way hard.

Yeah, those areas are basically just tantalizing bits, dangled in front of your face to encourage you to get stronger so you can explore them. I don't think you can even fully explore Zertinan or Garamsythe fully until after Mt. Bur-Omisace.

You can for zertinan but one section has 67 level enemies that will destroy you even if the 30-40 enemies don't.

Garamsyth needs an item that you can't access until you reach the mountain and have the scene there to open the stillshrine

I don't remember my first playthrough that much but it definitely has some off moments this time and I played X recently and don't remember catching that for it. I wonder if it's because of that audio stuff they fixed?

I beat down Cuchulainn earlier today. That fight was annoying, but I managed to keep ahead of the constant sap status. Once that's no longer a problem, the fight is fairly manageable. Those slimes he spawns early on can be a problem if you don't kill them right away. Having Penelo casting drain as her Blm nuke added another level of sustainability.

When I fight him in the trial mode I just use zeromus for the HP based gravity abuse. Nukes him down quick.

Yeah I was too weak for there at the time of that post, but I'm doing it now

Ironically, the first two areas with enemies (baknamies and the glowing skeletons) are some of the harder enemies in the area.

Working on finishing hunts but I need to go into the great crystal too. :( gunpla here btw

4x speed makes it so easy to get around I find myself grinding a bit longer than I intend to. It'd be like "Oh, I'm just two LP away from this skill I need" and head to get it and suddenly I filled up half the licence board.
