Would you be happy with this kind of pay and work?

Let's assume that it's a job you're genuinely happy with, so it doesn't make you miserable. However, the $60,000 a year and 60 hours a week still apply. I have some friends who are in this situation, and while they make more than I do, I'm not sure I would want such a job.

I often work 60 hours a week and I gross more than that. It sucks but it's nice to be financially comfortable.

Year round? Fuck no. I'm a tax manager and I work plenty more than 60 hours during busy season, but otherwise I get to work from home like 85% of the time, which means I dick off for 7ish months a year.

60 hours is bad for you guys? Wow, tough crowd.

Well, assuming that 40 hours is tolerable, what is the maximum amount that you'd be willing to work per week?

I have no problems working 60 but hell if I can get the same amount for 40 that would be fine.

Very slight paycut for 50% more hours?

I'd be a tad peeved.

@AlternativeFAQS
I sell industrial LED lights and manage all the invoices and shipments. I live in Arizona but my company is out of Michigan, where I lived before. I usually sell to car dealerships, hospitals and prisons. Places where they need a lot of lights, often running all night.

So when a shipment is ready to go out my guy back in Michigan calls me and gives me the weights and dimensions and I call our shipping company and set up a pick up. From there I prepare an invoice from home or my phone depending on my current location. Wednesday/Thursdays I head to Phoenix or Tucson if I have sales meeting set up. I make 10% off of my sales + a 10% bonus for sales over 100k.

@AlternativeFAQS

Yeah, it's stupid easy. Like I said, I do very little actual "work". I mean I spend most of my time fucking around and I mean that quite literally. Last month, I sold one job, a big ass warehouse full of 75W downlights and a handful of Versa lights(adjustable exterior lights). I made 15k, and worked MAYBE 10 hours the whole month. And my job pays me to travel. A few years ago they legit paid me to cross the globe. Went to China(where our lights are made to see the factory), Dubai, Kiev, Ukraine, Sydney, Australia, Liverpool, New York and Chicago for a showing. They paid me to go on the trip and paid for the whole thing.

When I was younger and earning less I would have accepted a job like this, but now I would not.

Building human capital is important and a 60 hour work week leaves little time to build human capital while off the job. So there needs to be a career path and valuable on the job experience.

Met the right 2 people in college. One was Makuah, his father applied the same tech that keeps laptops cool to LED lights(heat spreader tech). The other was Tarik, his dad was stupid wealthy. I introduced the two, they went into mass industrial LED production and me, Tarik and Makuah bought exclusive distribution rights in several states.

Both the middle. I don't mind a 60 hour week for much more but that's not near enough. I also don't mind 60k for a 40 hour week.

I average probably about 57 now working about 52.

Not somewhere I'm willing to stay.
