So I just saw the latest episode of Game Dungeon, Armed and Delirious. It is by far one of the most nonsensical, bizarre things I have ever witnessed. It makes LSD Dream Emulator look coherent. Ross said it must be simulating what having dementia is like, and I believe him.

This forum I used to hang out at is getting shut down at the end of the month since the server is being decommissioned. I have a lot of memories of this place, memories that only emerged with more clarity as I looked back through my old posts. I started going there in 2007, while I was still in high school, then my visits tapered off in 2013, with a few more in 2014. This forum's biggest draw was people mocking bad fanfics. Not MSTing them as characters, but just insulting them as themselves. I also first discovered FiM there, thanks to someone making a topic going "WTF is with this pony shit?" and me getting curious.

It was also the place that put Dakari-King Mykan in the spotlight. How is this relevant? Well, he eventually wrote a little FiM hate-fic called My Little Unicorn: Magic is Believing, which quickly gained infamy in the brony community. Telling you about him would take all day, so just look him up on Encyclopedia Dramatica. He's a real piece of work.

Having been a regular there during such a significant part of my life and feeling all that nostalgia bubbling back up from the old posts, and it is sad to know all those memories really are going to become just that. Now some people are likely saving the absolute best mocks, but everything else? Soon to be nothing but internet dust. Goodnight, sweet prince, and may angry teenagers with no writing skills screech thee to thy grave.

Oh, man. One of the mods was always amazingly witty and creative and a big fan of the MGS series. So when he mocked a Teen Titans (2003) fic where they're all normal people in high school, he interpreted the antagonist principal as a noble, hard-working man doing a thankless job. He spun this off into his own side story called "(fic name): Gaiden" where the principal is also doing undercover work for the Patriots from MGS. It was seriously amazingly written and definitely took far more effort and creativity than the fic he was mocking did.

Oh, and here's something said mod wrote that I saved to my FB page (made in response to people seriously getting depressed that Pandora from the movie Avatar wasn't real):

"As a young, first-generation immigrant from Uruguay, I faced many challenges in adapting to American society, chief among them the saddening realization that most people only remember my country for that time Homer Simpson pronounced it "You-Are-Gay." But never has my soul been so crushed as now--now that I have realized that the perfect world is just beyond my grasp.

To elaborate, I saw the film Avatar in theaters not long ago, and I adored it. I loved every second, every frame of it, every syllable of spoken dialogue, every lingering glance, every CG-I shot, every 3-D-induced headache--it was as though James Cameron (hallowed be his name) had filmed the entire thing through a camera lens polished with perfection. So thoroughly was I engrossed in the land of Pandora that I felt as though I was there, that Eywa had taken my hand and lead me to true, perfect happiness.

Nobody I have spoken to understands--my parents, my thereapists, David Schwimmer, my barely-legal Thai prostitutes and their various pimps--they tell me to "just get over it," to "accept reality" and "move on with my life." Ingrates.

But maybe, just maybe...I'll find a kindred spirit here.

Does anybody know what I am talking about? The searing, incomparable agony of knowing that Pandora...is just out of reach?

Please, share your stories. You will find nothing but comfort and acceptance. And, perhaps...perhaps we can find Pandora for ourselves."

Oh, to be that dashing hero who treats this fantastic world like his playground, running and jumping with the imperishable stamina I can barely even imagine in my current depressed state... I can't imagine how hard this is on my grandma. This is the second child she's outlived. An adult son of hers died in an accident back in the '70s, I think. She's composed right now, but you just know she was crying earlier.
