In my 8 years working, the only days I've taken off were one vacation (brother already bought me a ticket, so I was practically forced to go), about 7 sick days, and 3 days for funerals. The only personal day I've taken of my own volition was not coming to work on a 3 hour summer day to do a drawing workshop.

I take 3 or 4 half days for doctor appointments.

Generally around 6-7 days of vacation is what I take. The rest of my PTO above 80 hours is paid out in February so I usually have a nice bonus then.

Two vacations at one or two days apiece, and a few hour here and there to do mundane crap like meet the exterminator or visit the doc.

We don't get paid out for extra pto so we have to use it. I have an 18 day vacation coming up in August.

So I'll probably spend around 3-4 months off per year (spread out in chunks, obviously). When I work, it's often without weekends and long days.

Between 3 weeks of vacation and probably the toughest year ever on my family I took almost 7 weeks of leave last year. One week of that was bereavement.
