I'm hopefully going to be done with school after summer semester of next year and was just wondering what opportunities I would have available. Did my own research but I want to get some more opinions. I would want to at least make like 35K starting out. As far as my resume goes, I would not have any computer-related work but I have been a supervisor at a grocery store and a coffee shop for the past 4 years so I have some amount of leadership experience.

What you guys think??

How did you get a CS degree and have no work experience? Internships are pretty easy to come by.

I have to work to survive lol. It might be possible to do an internship for like 7 months at the start of next semester but that's it. I really don't need huge money right out of college. I make like 20K now 35K would be a godsend.

You might have to take an internship at a lower pay as a sort of "trial period" for a company, but if your grades are good you shouldn't have any problem getting interviews. You might want to aim a bit higher than $35K though. That's criminally low for a CS grad. With no experience, at least shoot for $45k or $50k

So I was in about the same boat when I graduated in 2009. Just work experience, but nothing in a related capacity. I got like 40k to start(or maybe it was 35k on a 3 month trial or something like that) in Northern Alabama, but now I live in New England and make well into 6 figures. So as long as you live near some sort of sizable city you should be able to do fine. Best advice I can give you is aim for something small, start-up or development group that brings in contract work. Just look to get a couple years of in field experience and then try to trade up into something that interests you.
