If you have a gaming PC and you don't want an Xbox? Awesome. You still get to play. Microsoft still benefits because you're buying their game on their store regardless. It doesn't make a difference to them if you buy Gears 4 on an Xbox or PC. Hell a PC sale guarantees them a digital copy which means more money for Microsoft.

Consumer choice is great. Microsoft should be praised for this. But instead it's used as a way to insult the Xbox One. It's just like a game being on both PS4 and Vita. Or 3DS and Wii U. It's still a first party ecosystem if it's exclusive to the Windows 10 store which most first party Microsoft games are.

It's not, I think it's just disingenuous for people to go on about how they announced so many exclusives when it's not true.

And personally as someone who *has* a built gaming PC I'd love a reason to buy an Xbox lol.

But it's exclusive to their store. It's still a first party game. It's still exclusive to Microsoft platforms. Plenty of people are happy to call Persona 5 a PS4 exclusive even though it's on PS3.

That's your decision to make and it's also a pretty big reason as to why the situation is way more complicated than just "Microsoft doesn't have any exclusive games"

They do. They're just exclusive to Xbox and the Windows 10 Store. You can have a PC and not use the Windows 10 store at all. But Microsoft's goal with this is to get you to either buy an Xbox or use their PC store. A lot of people are acting like this goal is at odds with each other but they aren't.

I mean, that's your choice but options are never a bad thing. And plenty of people use the Windows store for 1st party M$ games.

If Microsoft simply branded the Windows 10 Store the Xbox Store or made a separate marketplace for them (the Windows 10 store really isn't great for bigger games) that would be a huge improvement with this silly 'exclusive' branding.
