They push to have higher positions in society yet a lot of these still don't want to date "down"

If some women are pushed up in society then doesn't that mean men are pushed down so wouldn't it be reasonable for dating expectations to be reversed too?

eg. in the 60s some sort of Don Draper type executive would have no problem dating the receptionist. but in today's society a woman could easily have that sort of executive position yet most likely would never date a male receptionist.

What's up with that. it's like weird catch22. there is a push for women to have higher positions in society. yet dating expections still expect men to have even higher positions.

Do you know any girls IRL who dated "down"? does her family and friends low-key think of him as some sort of deadbeat?

If they don't have to why would they? Same goes for men too. Nobody consciously decides "hey I'm you to date down and be with someone who's less successful than me, less physically attractive, etc."

Because most women have the luxury of a broader choice in partners.

Yeah, the end result is a lot of successful single women in their 30's. Probably won't be an issue for another generation or so though.

And the fact is, there's a lot of metrics to go by. A lady might make more and be more successful than her counterpart, but he might bring other things to the table. Maybe he's really outgoing and social. Maybe he's good looking. Maybe he has a lot of practical skills. Chicks dig guys with skills.

That's my advice on how to navigate this new environment. Learn a bunch of skills. Know how to fix things.
