Do you ever? If someone you know and like made a violation would you mark it even if it clearly was? What about people you don't recognize?

I've marked one of my friends for disruptive posting before. Other than that, I don't tend to mark my friends for violations because other people will do it anyway.

Other people I will mark. Especially if it looks like an obvious violation.

I mark trolls that I dislike, not people I like (even if they are trolling)

For instance totodile trolls the fam all the time, but I won't mark.

The fam on the other hand, I will mark them if it LOOKS like a violation. Because screw them.

yeah i thought that was the common practice here, as i've heard. Maybe a regular guy on some board who does do stupid shit might not get marked if almost everybody knows and likes him, maybe get away with a lot of stuff

Yeah, though if I'm expected to act on certain content I will typically inform them or clarify with mods. Neither situation comes up often.

i've never really had a problem with people spoiling for me, though i've heard that this enrages many users on this site, sometimes if they already knew about what was spoiled

yeah most people say spoilers piss them off the most but that's way down on my list of peeves though

I mark blatant account suicides. I can't imagine marking anything else, with the exception of my spoilers. I wouldn't be able to look myself in the mirror.

huh? clarify with mods? what are you talking about?

Community board moderations get super cereal from time to time. If the site rules were up to me they would be more lax, but then nobody's asking me and I'm not sure may way is right.

No point. It takes at least a week to be seen unless you mass mark using certain methods.

In my experience, people I know and like don't generally post things that I find bad enough to actually mark.

I don't mark anyone. Period.

Marking posts is for the weak. And using the ignore list is childish and pathetic.

I'm not an internet badass. There's no such thing. But some people are internet bitches, and I'll call 'em out on it every time. Nothing wrong with that.

I always wonder how people that use their ignore list and mark posts deal with conflict in real life where there aren't hall monitors to hold their hands. You can't censor reality.

I don't use the ignore list but I do make use of the post marking.

It's not that I can't handle what they said, I just like trying to get people banned/suspended who make asses of themselves.

I also am not one to goad them on by marking them and posting that I marked, I just mark them and move on. I only mark people who have proven time and time again that what they say is completely worthless.

That or spoilers, I definitely mark spoilers for anything 3 years old or newer.
