I changed my opinion on the Paris accords.

Since nobody will tell me a single reason why we should stay in; I'm going to stop caring about China and start laughing my ass off at leftist chicken littles who think the sky is falling.

Ha ha take that liberals.

We should stay in because we are (were) a global leader and it is good to set a precedent / example for everyone else on important issues. Yes, symbolic agreements do matter.

Now you give a reason why we should have left it. There isn't one. Trump even lied to you about the reason (jobs)

It considers China a developing nation who has no obligation to lower their emissions until 2030 while giving them access to a pool of money that is expected to be paid into by developed nations. On the other hand it wouldn't really matter if they were expected to lower their emissions, since the deal has zero enforcement mechanisms anyways.

But that doesn't matter compared to symbolic leadership over a meaningless deal.

Which is obvious considering you can't even reach into the Paris accord and pull out a single reason to stay inside of it. Your reason to stay in could be applied to ANY climate change agreement. Less taxes being stripped from Americans and getting vacuumed up by elites and globalist corporations. That's the endgame.

Meanwhile CO2 is roughly 0.04% of the atmosphere's composition, and we add only a tiny fraction of that yearly, and they want to tax it, even though it isn't the only greenhouse gas and other examples exist such as water vapor and methane.

What about the sun's cycles and the solar cycles that occur in our solar system / galaxy, and their role on our climate?

No wait, this is all conspiracy talk! There's a consensus guys!

The Paris Agreement is a joke. One big joke.

Everyone signs up so the United States can be Santa Clause. We pay for everything and other countries receive. It's a lousy deal for the United States.

The Paris agreement isn't going to start until 2030, at that time the United States would have paid about $100 Billion into this nonsense...$100 Billion. Of course other countries want to sign up. We're giving free money away. It's a joke.

If there is a real climate change agreement, everyone should buy in and pay, not just Santa Clause United States.

Sanity.

I visited China last February. It was a miracle to see some somewhat blue skies in Beijing for a couple days. Early this year, parts of china was blanketed in some awful smog.

Like I said, the agreement is a toothless joke. It doesn't do anything to combat climate change. All it does it take more money out of the United States and give it to other counties.

Trump is looking balance the budget and the Paris Agreement is one of the most useless money drains Obama signed. And I like Obama, but this agreement is a joke.

Not sorry, but we're not Santa Clause. We're $20 TRILLION in debt.

The future is only worthwhile if everyone buys in, not just 1 country. The future is worth fighting for only if the biggest polluters agree to stop polluting. The Paris Agreement is nothing more than another excuse to give money away and continue to put ourselves in debt. It accomplishes nothing more than make our wallet lighter.

If this deal is the difference between living and dying; why does it allow two of the largest polluters on the planet in India and China to continue their emissions with no expectations of lowering them at all until 2030?

Or maybe the accords are pointless and dropping them doesn't matter other than saving us from wasting our money.

How did the person you are replying to, who clearly didn't vote for Trump, win him the election? Is he Russia or something?

I know it's difficult for a liberal to comprehend the concept of taking responsibility for your own failures and faults, but I'll try to explain. My expectations are very low, but I'll try.

Screaming "racist", "misogynist", and "whatever-phobe" at people you disagree with is what got Donald Trump elected. Slapping derogatory labels and names on things you don't agree with is not an argument. It's a tiresome temper tantrum. I quote:

Well done trumpanzees, you've destroyed our global leadership. But hey, you can scream slurs at hispanics, women and muslims, so it's all good right?

So, because they don't agree with you, they MUST hate hispanics, women and Muslims. And even if they did, it is still their right to do so, just as Libs are free to exercise their right to hate white people. Liberals have no problems shouting derogatory terms about White men, because of their "privilege". They say racism towards whites doesn't exist, and that it is impossible for a "minority" to be racist, when it has proven to be wrong.

Throughout last year's election. I have not heard ONE. SINGLE. GOOD argument against Donald Trump. All CNN and liberals can do peddle the same old tiresome talking points:

"Trump is mean!"
"Trump hates women!"
"Trump hates mexicans!"
"Trump hurts my feelings!"
"Trump is a fascist!"
"Trump says mean things!"
"Trump is a stupid doo-doo head!"

When people come along and ask "Why"? As in asking Libs to support their argument, They can't, or don't. When inquiries and questions are brought to the table, they are shouted down and censored for being "racist", people are harassed and physically attacked for supporting Trump, for DARING to have a different opinion. Free Speech is not tolerated in Liberal America, unless Liberals do it.

Trump did next to no campaigning last November, and he didn't need to. Liberals did all the campaigning for him, and still are to this very day.

Sad isn't it. People like him are the reason Trump supporters are referred to as cultists by some

The whole world is so rarely united on anything and the Paris deal was like the one thing that almost had everyone.

I'm sure its already mentioned in this topic already, but we are in some bad company right now

Somehow the right to free speech has been used and bastardized to suggest that even idiotic things should have their place. The majority have convinced themselves they are being oppressed and literally standing in the way of anything that might make things different.

Yea, I'm salty as hell right now so y'all should probably just ignore what I have to say for now at least

Oh, so you're a snowflake who feels like the liberals are mean to you, so you voted Trump thinking that would spite them. A mature reason to vote, no doubt.

"Throughout last year's election. I have not heard ONE. SINGLE. GOOD argument against Donald Trump."

This is a total load of shit (you literally listed some good reasons inadvertently), and if true, it totally confirms that you do not follow politics. You've been presented with dozens of good arguments against the worst POTUS in history. It's your fault if you are so ethically and morally bankrupt that you actually think the arguments against Trump are positives for him.

Mind blowing meltdown though, 10 out of 10, would debunk again

The fact that he believes that climate change is a hoax created by the Chinese is reason enough to slam dunk his rotund orange ass directly into a dumpster

How the fuck does one even go that far down the rabbit hole? I've never even heard of such a conspiracy theory until he said that

But anyway I'm not really convinced that the Paris agreement is worthwhile, though the value of getting many nations onto the same page regarding climate change is probably a good first step towards actually doing something about it
