Which in our television streaming environment is probably the smart move. Honestly, CW might be the smallest of the broadcast networks and it's certainly the least watched but they have consistently been two years ahead of the curve when it comes to identifying and capitalizing on the shifts in the television industry. People were all sorts of confused when CW started renewing shows with absolutely abysmal ratings and episode numbers that were well-below syndication levels, but CW had realized at that point that an affordable self-produced show, that you can sell streaming rights for might have more value than some higher-rated show that is being produced by a different party and doesn't come with streaming rights.
