Sometimes, but I have rules. I'll only give to people I regularly see around town and I know for sure are actually homeless.

I never give to people on public transit or out in random places. There are a lot of scammers that just walk through the train cars here reciting the same fake ass lines asking for handouts. It's gotten so bad that women have started carrying their babies through the trains asking people for money. There's no legitimate reason for that.

i used to but i got mad when one of them gave me a bs excuse about needing money then 2 days later forgot my face and came to me with the same bs story. Never since.

If I feel generous I donate online to something worthy instead

I stopped after I had a lady practically shake me down one time after I gave her a dollar she literally asked me "is that all you got?". Seriously??? F you lady wtf that pissed me off so much, your literally getting handouts and still can't appreciate what your getting, no wonder your a transient

I don't mind helping people get on their feet or what have you but if your gonna be ungrateful then sorry but f off.

In my country its illegal to beg money from people. If you hang in one place and keep asking money from people, they can call the police. They won't fine you, but will ask about your situation and see if they can help you.. If you keep doing it anyway after being told to stop, you will be spending a day in jail, or worse if they find out you are just scamming people.

Trust me, they know. You find yourself out on the street, you know all about it.

When I see them and they beg for money, I tell them "Sorry, don't have any." And walk away QUICKLY.

Nope.

I support the idea of them being able to get food stamps or go to shelters/kitchens where they can get food but I'm not going to give cash to homeless people because I think that they would spend it on alcohol and drugs.

Not saying all homeless people are addicts but the addicts are the guys that have a bottomless hunger that no amount of cash can fix so they are the most likely to be begging for cash.
