The end to s05e08 was possibly the only time I've heard every ASOFAI reader I know emphatically agree that something in the show that wasn't in the books was incredible.

Mmm I agree that it was a good end.

I thought it terms of battles the one with all the wildlings and giants attacking the wall was more interesting, but that was probably in the books

Correct, it was. The battle of Hardhome is only mentioned in the books, but it isn't directly witnessed by any character's POV.

Naw, she is, but it isn't interesting again until season 6.

Season 6 gets good, it's overall better than season 5. Maybe space it out, because I've been watching this show since close to the beginning of season 3, and the wait is the worst part. I'd tell you to thank your luck that you didn't get into it until now, but honestly, that might be more applicable in a year.

The whole "time-travel" aspect is one thing that I really didn't like from that season.

Like... it doesn't create a plot-hole or anything, technically, but time-travel can be VERY iffy in fiction. I hope the fan theories about Bran being involved a ton of the backstory elements turn out not to be true.

Watched Episode 6. Glad to see more Daenerys. The Lannisters (save Tyrion) are the least interesting thing going on right now.

Poor Samwell.

Just started episode 7 and holy shit who is that but The Hound?! That has been the best "wait a second" moment before an episode (though how many have started before the intro theme? not many if any, don't recall). Got my attention though!

Saw 7, 8, and 9 the other day. 9 was great. Some of the battle was cheese with the CG but overall it was engaging.

I had weird feelings every time Ramsay Bolton was on. On the one had, totally sadistic nasty character. On the other, Iwan Rheon is some fine eye candy. So many internal conflicting feels. A fitting end for him.

Going to watch the finale and I will be all caught up with the rest of the world!

I tried to post twice about it and had both posts lost. So this is going to be short.

that was quite a season finale. It set up everything well for season 7. The whole episode was interesting from start to finish. Two seasons to go and Cersei has taken the throne

Daenerys continues to be awesome.

My favorite characters (not that they are necessarily good people) are Daenerys, Cersei, Jon Snow, Tyrion, Jaime, and Arya. I really enjoyed what they did with Jon Snow in the finale.

I'm a little surprised with the Dany love in this topic.

I did love her for bits and pieces up until the end of season 3. Then things started getting eye-roll worthy. She spends her days sleeping around with her new boy toy, literally neglects her dragon children and is forced to chain them up underground because she can't handle them.

Then she casts off her smartest, strongest and easily the most loyal of her soldiers without even a second thought.

Then she misses her perfect chance to strike at Kings Landing and instead chooses to sit in pointless Meereen for 3 fucking seasons!

And none of this teaches her anything, as she's still as arrogant and self absorbed as ever as she takes back the Dothraki. When will she realizes that she would be nothing without the people around her? She acts like the world revolves around her and everything she has is solely because of her

I don't think Daenerys is amazing or without flaw. She did start messing everything up big time. She is interesting and still quite young, learning about being a leader (and not being great at it). A lot of the time her heart means well and she doesn't approach things from a place of understanding.
