It's cause in the comics, there's a Guardians run/team that is those guys and Yondu.

A lot of those other ravagers were actually characters who were the original GoTG (from the comics), I believe . Guess they just put them there for fan service.

Huh. What an absolute waste of potential. I thought it was just gonna be a name drop or something. But Sly makes a cameo and it's some character I never heard of? I didn't mind when it was Batista, but I would have liked Stallone to have been someone noteworthy.

It is cool though that he and Batista appear in a movie together before costarring in Escape Plan 2 though.

The movie Guardians are based off the 2008 GotG run. The original team was from the silver age. They are the Ravanger leaders in the movies.
