He would have to make that much every year for the next 986 years to be worth the same amount that Bill Gates is worth now.

Also, to take one big franchise of video games and compare it to a big franchise of sports. The NFL is currently worth an approximate 2.34 Billion dollars, as of FY 2016. For comparison Nintendo is worth 21.7 Billion dollars.

The NFL is worth a bit more than 10% of what Nintendo is worth.

For another number comparison. about 111million people watched Super Bowl LI this year. GTAV has sold over 70 million copies as of November 2016.

Since for most people the Super Bowl was free to watch, and GTAV cost $60, that's a pretty good comparison.

Some people will argue "Well, The Super Bowl gets over 100 million viewers EVERY YEAR! It gets way more viewers than video games sell!" Well, yeah. The Super Bowl, each year, gets more viewers than pretty much any game has ever sold, ever.

Except, the Super Bowl (and nearly all football games) are free to watch. Games pretty much always cost money. The cost barrier of course keeps people from getting all the games they want to, while pretty much nothing stops people from watching all the football they want to. There's also the point that with video game sales, there's a few million sellers every month pretty much.

The point is honestly, video games as a whole, are worth a lot more money than sports.

Top reasons why esports can't be put into olympics is because there's too many things that can be random. Its not 100% pure skill. There's hardware, its a videogame, so it can have glitches, there can be ping issues (even if the difference is 15ms vs 13ms its still an advantage). Video games can have too many variables, so that's why it can't be in olympics.

This. ESPN doesnt give a shit whether your for or against Esports and consider it a "sport" or not. Same thing for the Asian Olympics. The only thing they care about is money. Whatever makes them more money is what they'll promote and air.
