^ Well. In the GH's version, your RC Baron Plane's fuel doesn't run out if you don't press the X or Square button. You can simply glide to the targets w/o using any fuel. The original black label version doesn't have that luxury, your fuel runs out no matter what making this mission almost impossible to beat.
(also I gave up and came back to it after I had done flight school. Not sure if that actually helps or if it's just psychological, but I did it first or second time after that)

since mines is Devil may cry i probley would it up to the spiderboss and get killed off after that then ill yell LIGHT - ertyu on how far he'd make it in DMC
It's not too bad once you've gotten used to it, except for the fact that if the fourth car drives away instead of looping back around, the mission is literally impossible.

Whew. Beat it second time with about 1/100 fuel left. Never attempting this mission EVER again. Unlocking Zero's awesome third mission is worth it though.

I think flight school does make it easier because by then you'll actually be good at controlling a plane. The RC plane controls like **** and getting used to it isn't exactly easy.
If there is ever a mission like this in GTA V, I'm sue-ing Rockstar.
It was a pain in the ass and one of the hardest missions along with one of the ones in Flight school.
That one follow the train mission is one of the easiest missions and I don't understand why it's widely known as a really hard mission. The very next mission after that one is tough sometimes. (that one where Smoke drives the bike and you shoot the guys tailing you throughout the drainage ditches or whatever those are.
I remember reading the review of the game in EGM before I actually got it. They had a little sidebar complaining about the mission, and advised letting go of accelerator and gliding everywhere to save fuel (keep in mind, this was way before the Greatest Hits release). Since I heard about so many people having trouble with that mission, when I eventually tried it myself, I took that advice to heart, and tried gliding.
I failed that mission so many times. No matter what path or approach I chose, I'd always run out of time. I began to suspect that the fuel gauge was really just a disguised timer, and tested it out. I was right. So I stopped trying to glide.
The first time I tried simply holding down the accelerator like normal I beat the mission. Screw EGM.

I found the train mission really easy as well and the next mission on the bike a bit more difficult (although I wouldn't call it one of the tougher missions). Flight school however was pretty tough for a storyline mission and I'd probably call it the toughest one (storyline-mission-wise). Rockstar shouldn't have forced the later missions of the Flight school to be mandatory because some of them are ****ing annoying. And I know quite a number of people who have given up on SA after failing and failing at the FS.
