he said he was going back to China to take care of some family business but apparently the business was just to be with his family before he died. He didn't want any of us to worry about him so he kept it to himself all this time.
I've never actually had a friend die before, this sorta sucks and he was only 36.
That's s***ty. They must have caught it very late, given that liver transplants are among the least difficult. Shame to lose someone so young, I'm sorry for your loss

I was catching up with an associate of his whom I hadn't spoken to in a while and I was asking about said now dead friend and he filled me in. His associate knew but was respecting his wishes and keeping it quiet.
And yeah, I wish he would have said something before he left. He was a really good guy.
