Eh, it's hard for to defend or complain the Gamecube version of MMAC.
On the one hand, yeah, switching the buttons was incredibly stupid, and it led to a lot of problems and needless deaths when I first played it. On the other hand, it only took me one day to get used to it, and they felt completely natural after that. So I can't really disagree when people talk about the control problems, but I also can't say that it matters at all.
