The short version is encouraging people to talk with them and engage them in legitimate discussions instead of letting them remain in their hate-filled echo chambers. It's harder to hate somebody you know. Basically the same story from American X where Ed Norton's character slowly befriends the black guy in prison. Goes from constant death stares to joking about basketball teams.


This is a lot easier when you aren't the people they want to murder. The fact that some people succeded doesn't mean everyone should risk their necks

Also it kind of undercuts the message when she's now advocating for people getting nuked. Brings the motive of her older article into question. Or perhaps, makes it more clear.
