okay, first game idea: it's a doozy:
the game is an exploration / puzzle game with psychological thriller and horror aspects

in the game, you play as a patient at a psychiatric facility, while in the facility the drugs you are given create an illusion that you are actually a security officer at a mall.
for the start, your character is completely unaware that they're a psychiatric patient, until being hit in the face by a robber and the scenery shifts from the mall to the facility.

as you progress through the game, you can enter into other patients illusory worlds, for some they may think they are a citizen in a picture-esque 1950s town, for others they're a student at a school.
all of these "maps" will share the general layout of the facility, but some areas are only accessible from certain "illusion" worlds (ie - if you need a key to enter the janitor closet of the mall, you need to enter into the school world and find the master key for the school in the principle office)

throughout the game, there's a character who will always appear as a patient regardless of which illusion world you're in, but everyone else will fit inside that illusion. So, for example, person A may be a food court employee in mall world but they're a history teacher in school world. how they interact with you is based on which version of themselves that they are.
and each "world" isn't based in realism, they have strange dreamlike and surreal aspects to them, where progressing through the game will make each level feel less and less attached to reality

thats basically all i have for the game idea so far, I'm not smart enough to turn this into a real game nor do I like the story enough to develop it further.

but, basically, is it a good idea? would you play it?
I'm thinking something similar to The Prisoner (old tv show), quantum leap (other old tv show), a game called "We Happy Few" (new-ish game, pretty good you guys should check it out if you like british accents and masks), and idk what else. maybe that late 1990s movie Gothika with Halle Berry

please dont steal my idea in case i decide to make it into something. plz.
