LUE had a really bad history of on- and offsite board invasions and account suicides for attention whoring (to the point that "LUEicide" literally became a banned word). In 2003 they were the first message board to be hit with a minimum user level requirement.
This did little to solve the above problems. Then they went way too far when they invaded the memorial Live Journal of a teen who committed suicide and said some rather awful things (initially it was benign LUE memes that were going around at the time like "Timmy You're Getting Permanently Expelled!" and "You bought an N-Gage, didn't you?".
Wasn't long before someone posted a less benign LUE meme, "Suicide is your only... oh, wait" ("Suicide is your only option" was a super popular meme on LUE back then)
Then it escalated to criticizing the parents and posts of the LUE Unholy Trinity *Goatse, Tubgirl, and Harlequin Fetus* and worse (I won't even mention the other stuff because it would likely get me modded. Including some collages of shock images that made the Unholy Trinity look G rated in comparison)
