To provide a baseline and attempt to establish some modicum of consistency with this new rule. For users to appropriately wield the ability they have to correct an incorrect moderation. Doing nothing solves nothing.

I'm sorry, but what are we?

Guineea pigs to find out what kind of moderation may be legit or not?

Or are we some crashtest dummies running straight against an invisible wall of rules? Maybe we pass, maybe we get purged? Who knows? Seems like neither we nor the mods know.

And that's the issue.

How can a social community work when neither the users nor the mod team knows the rules they are supposed to uphold?

And to make it even more "fun", the punishment for a single misstep can now be permanent.

It's us who carry the risk of every single post. We carry the risk of these foggy rules, and we will be forced to take the blame and carry the consequences for every single misstep on this beyond blurry line.

How many people will have to get modded until "the baseline" gets clear, and the new rule gets "consistent"? 50? 100?

How many of them will be overturned, and how many will be "nope, that was too much, you are out forever"?
