The problem is that Twitter and Reddit are just about attention in form of retweets or upvotes to be visible, and a chat like Discord is just about activity. I virtually can't participate in a Reddit discussion, because no matter what I write, by default it will be ranked below the funny pun with 127 upvotes. I mean, 20 years ago every community had some phpBB2 board.
