They take on positions like nanny or nurse where they will be in charge of vulnerable people and then kill making it look like natural causes often racking up much larger body counts before being caught than other serial killers

This. I remember looking at a list of the most notorious female serial killers, and it was dominated by women in nursing positions, with their victims being old people or children.
