The Playstation stars thing is kinda doing thing. Not specifically tied to trophies and it's own little thing.....and what you earn from completing the requirements is pretty small. But you can redeem the points for certain games and psn credit. There actually used to be a PSN program years ago that would give you store credit for trophies. They ended up discontinuing it in favor of the new Stars thing though.
