I'd also prefer not to replace these umps who are on their way out, so that someday MLB can roll out robots to fill the positions of calling balls and strikes.
The umps aren't going to be replaced though. They just won't be actually calling balls and strikes. You'd still need one behind home plate to actually relay that information.

And most umpires are pretty decent. They're just rarely perfect. I wouldn't want them to lose their jobs just because they're human and bound to make errors. Just take the human factor out as much as possible.
