But this is indeed a trial about falsifying business records. That's the actual crime. Again, we all pretty much know why he did it. But that's motive, not the crime itself.

The burying of the story is not actually a crime. Catch and Kill is not illegal. And it's not Election Interference to do so. The actual crime here was how he went about it. That's the illegal part.
