| Topic | What are some excellent games provided you haven't played any in the series? |

Specifically what I'm asking is, what are some games that everyone says are trash but only because they're derivates of earlier entries and they haven't actually progressed the formula in any way - meaning that someone having never played any in the series will still have a very good time.
People trash Far Cry games for this reason, but I just picked up Far Cry 5 having never played any of them and this shit is pretty great. Dynasty Warriors, another good example.
