Most Iowa's bench didn't even play. I wonder what went into that decision.

Because their bench is not very good. Hell even their starting 5 isn't *that* good. Gabby Marshall is scrappy on defense and gives you the occasional 3 pointer on the wing but she really isn't that dependable on offense.

Hannah Stuelke is their best 2nd options most nights inside and their biggest player but on a night like tonight even she is clearly outsized. Here strength is how well she runs the floor as a big. They use O'Grady as a substitute defensive option off the bench but on offense she is quite poor and anytime they try to use her offensively it is a turnover or a horrible shot.

Kate Martin gives points here and there. She is a decent option. She is mostly their to help run the offense.

Affolter is a bench player that was put into a starting position because of injury. She has actually been a decent bright spot.

But that is really it. There is nobody else of note on the bench. The strength of the starting 5 mostly comes in the form of experience and familiarity. Like on their own Marshall and Martin are pretty mediocre players but they have really fit well with Clark over the years and coach Bluder gets every ounce of worth out of them.

But plain and simple there is no where to turn on the bench.
